You may have noticed that over the festive period we built a small performance area at the far end of the Lower Level. During November and December the stage hosted performances from countless choirs, singers, bands, dancers and speakers. We received so much positive feedback from performers and audiences that we have decided to keep the stage and offer it to the use of the local community.
During the operating hours of the centre, the stage can be used for small performances such as: singing, storytelling, art demonstrations, choirs, acting, music, dance and theatre. The area is open to the public and the public can come and go and watch your performance.
There is no set charge for using the space during the daytime, all we ask is a donation to our chosen charity: Home Start East Surrey a Redhill-based charity who support local families, if you are able to.
In the evening, post 6.30pm, the space can be used for larger, noisier performances or rehearsals. We have the option of screening the area off so that it can be used for paid or ticketed performances and seating can be provided. For evening performances we can explore options, so do get in contact if you are interested.
For paid/ticketed events there is a nominal usage charge. All other non-commercial hirers will be asked to make a donation to our chosen charity if they are able.
We were so inspired by Arts Takeover week, run by RBBC in October, so we know there is no shortage of creativity in Redhill! We hope this area can provide a home for performers and entertainment for our wonderful local community.
