D-Day 75th Anniversary
Lest we forget – Join in D-Day commemorations Saturday 1st to 8th June at the Belfry
The Belfry Shopping Centre will be remembering 6 June 1944 with a series of displays, exhibitions and music at the Centre from Saturday 1stto 8th June.
The fuselage of a Lancaster bomber, the most successful British heavy bomber of World War II, will be located outside the Belfry’s High Street entrance from Thursday 6th to Saturday 8th June.
From Saturday 1st through to Saturday 8th June, displays of genuine WWII artillery, vehicles and memorabilia, as well as fascinating historical information will be on view at the Centre.
As part of the commemorations for the 75th anniversary of D-Day, there will also be the opportunity to enjoy some of the most famous tunes of the 1940s with singers, Sandra Gayer and Charlotte Earle on Saturday 1st and Saturday 8th June. Sandra will sing from 11.30am on the 1st and 1.30pm on the 8th. Charlotte and the Zapphire Singers will perform on the 8th at 11am and 12.30pm.
There will also be the chance to meet Veterans and the Royal British Legion.
